New pipes done.
Finished my new pipes at the weekend. Christ I hate polishing stainless! Still need to tweak the upsweep on the front one when the engine's back in the frame. I think it pulled a bit when welded. Painting the frame this week and then it's build up time!!! Just waiting for some chrome to be done and I've gotta make a rear brake rod and that's it. Roll on Avon Park!

oh aye - look lurvley not gone for the cocktail shakers then?

Sure have but they're away getting re-chromed. I'll cut the headers down to size when they're back and on the bike.

Cocktail shakers were from the US via ebay -2495984267 - he's got plenty. Not Superior quality but cheap, I think I paid about £85 a pair including shipping. They do 1 5/8 and 1 3/4 inlets. Short and long tips. I could only find upswept ones but I wanted straight ones so I cut and rewelded them - hence the re-chroming. Sumo. The headers are a push fit in the ports - if you get a tight fit and build your brackets solid they'll be okay. Also, I heard a great tip to seal them - everything I'd tried previously, exhaust putty etc, just blew out. Panic recommends painting the inside of the ports and the end of the pipes with maple syrup. As soon as they get hot the sugar in the maple syrup carbonises and seals real good! Plus they're easy to disassemble.
