Tipple run end june 2008 right - me and a friend were gassing in the pub at the weekend about sorting something out to do next year
this is kinda what we came up with
looks like we will be doing this end of june 2008 - all this year is booked up and thats the first chance of fairly reliable weather but it will rain at some point no doubt...
run plan at the minute:
day 1:
start ace cafe london
on to stone henge
then on to taunton area
camp - taunton area is in scrumpy country - most farms home brew stuff - its great, you go to the farm and buy it from them in petrol cans
day 2:
ride up to birmingham maybe run through the national motorcycle museum because they have some really cool pieces in
on to hebden bridge area
camp - there is a steam brewery near by that brews all speciality ales and sells by the barrel
day 3:
stay local ride round the countryside / chill / out drink
day 4:
ride back home
anyone wanting to play out is welcome

wha!!! it looks a damn good run to me - its not that far - only same as edr and the roads are a hell of a lot better...you big girl.... a run tailored round my 2 favorite drinks - cider and proper ale - makes sense to me
you know you want to....
basically its only 3 days at 200 miles over 4 days - its fine

I'm in cos I think it looks fantastic. I'll even try to have an aircooled bike for it.
Sumo, I'm growing my own apples to make cider, will keep you posted..

I saw this and thought it said June 2007! But then I'm a dopey fucker and can't read, eh? :D :D :D
Sound's like a cool plan to me. Wonder if I could make it on the 45 - what was your cruisin speed like on EDR Sumo?
Maybe it'd be better on the Thruxton, espesh as I'll have it Cafe'd out by then. One suggestion - if yer gonna make it an epic, how's about extending it to the Lake District to take in the best scenery in England!!! I'd hapily ride down to the Ace and then do the full circuit.
Just checked JJ. Be cool if some of the Yanks could make it over.

had people mailing me telling me not to use the main roads..... i wasnt much - im lazy, was just using the google map with like 3 points on it to get the idea across - this is closer to plan but still not exact
now shows breaking off into the peak district and not coming down the M1 is the main difference but same basic circle

quiet day at work today set up a little sub-page
http://vintagechop.com/vintagechop.com/TIPPLE%20RUN.html
more accurate map and some bits and pieces. It wont be a regularly updated thing but its out there now so its on for real....

Your still a nutbar sumo!
Just head down our way, and you can get ale and cider! hehe
Only jokin i'm up for it!.... I think.
sumo- 05-18-2007
if you want to ride down and rest your head / fettle the bike the day before i got floor space / locked garage - same goes tom / bjorn
as far as speed - well to be honest im hopeing to have my 45 running so slow for me hehe, even on the shov not fast - chill out and take in the scenery - bring your 45 if its not gtting another re-style by then...
i thought it was enough miles and a fair slice of the country covered and we got some of the peak district in - maybe on the 2nd annual tipple run we will extend it if we recon a few more miles wont hurt

Cheers mate. I'll be on either my SR500 (yes thats the new one), or a TR1 chop. If anyone stateside happens over and needs a crashspace/shed then I can accomodate.
slowrider- 05-19-2007
Thanks for the offer Sumo. Good Man! Maybe on the 45 then. Slow and the Thruxton don't go together. Especially when I've sorted it and the bars are down on the front wheel spindle. Ton up boys rule!
